Persistent InsomniaPersistent insomnia is the overall term for sleep difficulties that occur several nights in succession. In some people, the condition can occur every night for a month, while others experience difficulty sleeping every few nights. Patients who have this condition may not only have difficulty sleeping, but may have difficulty staying asleep and/or going back to sleep after being awoken as well. Left untreated, persistent insomnia can eventually take a serious toll on the person’s life, and day-to-day functions.

Some patients may be able to get some relief from persistent insomnia with regular use of marijuana.
