Lyme DiseaseLyme disease is an infectious condition caused by bacteria from the borrelia genus. Also called lyme borreliosis, the condition is caused by the borrelia burgdorferi sensu in the United States, while other forms of the bacteria are responsible for most cases in Europe. Lyme disease can cause a great deal of pain and discomfort to patients as the condition takes hold. For some patients, marijuana may provide relief from the pain and many of the other symptoms.
