Lipomatosis is a condition characterized by the growth of cells of fat in the subcutaneous tissues. Also called “Familial Multiple Lipomatosis”, the condition causes these limpomas to grow together in groups. The condition is most commonly seen in the torso, arms, and neck, but they may appear on other parts of the body as well. Although most cases of lipomatosis are harmless, they can interfere with talking and swallowing of they develop in the throat.
Marijuana may be helpful to patients with lipomatosis, both as a post-surgery remedy or to help ease the pain of the condition.
