Insulin-dependent diabetes is another form of diabetes. Also called Type 1 diabetes, the condition is also referred to as “juvenile diabetes” in order to distinguish it from adult-onset diabetes. In this type of diabetes, the ability of the pancreas to produce insulin is severely impaired. Because of insufficient insulin production, the body is unable to absorb glucose.
